 graduated in classic guitar in Florence Conservatoire in 1991,

he had taken part in masterclasses of guitar and composition by Leo Brouwer .

His composition’s master was the South African composer Hendryk Hofmeyr and his jazz master, the famous Italian Maestro Giancarlo Sicuteri..

During his career, he studied with the same attention and love  classic as  jazz, and popular music, and worked with great musicians, singers, actors and dancers  in their different fields.

He is the composer and player of the music of the shows of the Italian comic actor Paolo Hendel and worked  too with other famous actors as Giorgio Panariello, the great Clown “Dimitri”, Liliana de Curtis (The Totò’ s daughter).

He arranged a format of recital with lyrical voices singing the most famous Italian arias from Verdi, Puccini, Rossini, Cilea, etc. with the classic guitar’s accompaniment bringing this format of show in many theatres and concert halls.

He even played  with many  different chamber ensembles, duos, trios, singers, violin players, cello players, string quartet, guitar ensembles.

Among the opera singers with whom he played, Giorgio Casciarri (tenor),

 Simone Alaimo (Bas-bariton), Inva Mula (soprano) and many others.

Due his various experiences in studies and work, he walk without any problem crossover among classic music, opera, swing, jazz and popular music too,

 helped in this by the characteristics of his own instrument, always appreciated in every kind of music.

He has fun and new ideas experimenting  techniques and moods caught from different styles and ages.

As a swing and jazz player and bandleader, he played solo concerts, in duo with sax, singers, violin players , trio, quartet, until septet.

He played with Giancarlo Sicuteri (guitarist for Fred Bongusto), Attila Simon (violin player for Cirque du Soleil) Stefano Negri (sax player for the “Dirotta su Cuba” and for Renato Zero) Fabrizio Morganti (drums player for Biagio Antonacci) and a lot of other musicians.

Being always attracted by the folk traditional music, expecially the South Italian forms (he was born in  SiracusaSicily), he always played  Italian dances and songs also with great partners as Fausta Vetere, Mimmo Epifani, Susy Bellucci, the “Kunsertu”.

 

He plays three kind of guitars :

1)     the classic guitar, an awesome instrument built by the Sicilian luthier Antonino Scandurra is the instrument for the classic concerts and the acoustic jazz sessions

2)     the amplified classic guitar, is an old Spanish instrument, adapted with sophisticated electronic. It permit a clean acoustic amplification for obtain a clear classic sound and a versatility of equalization changes in the way to give different sound as soloist, rhythmic, Spanish, and effects as reverb, delay, wha-wha, until distortions. He plays this instrument on stages, theaters, and in quartet group with voice, contrabass and drums.

3)     the electric guitar is a Parker Fly, an eclectic one, that mix magnetic and piezo-electric pickup giving infinitive possibility of sound from an emulation of acoustic steel guitar, passing on semi-acoustic jazz sonority, arriving until a metal sound! He plays this instrument with the sextet with drums, brass, for solos and rhythmic in funky, soul, Motown, R&B..
